Having, with much support and help from our friends in Uster "almost" have it all done, we are eager to deploy as quickly as possible on our ship. Thank you all, without you would be our departure date to be advanced much further.
Thank you also for all the wonderful farewell invitations and of course a huge thank you to our children Livia and Adrian, who have organized for us a great surprise farewell party.
Fully loaded, we drove on 14 August at 2.30 clock in the morning to go Italy.
Upon meeting we found on the bathing platform of our Whisper a welcome surprise with the finest Italian delicacies. This can only be of Rosy, Peter and Fleur, the crew of the Swiss Family. Great, if you will be greeted by friends in their new home.
We quickly assess the damage, which has caused the tornado that moved a week ago with about 160 km / h over the Marina.
We were lucky! Except that our old cover is torn, the Whisper has weathered the storm well. As witnesses of the elemental forces we saw a few boats with larger defects, are also entmastete sailing ships on the site. The roof of the hangar was partially covered, and even some large shipyard gates tore the storm with them. Everywhere around was still plastic and glass wool.
After a leisurely brunch at the Swiss Family we set about cleaning the Whisper. The glass wool, which was already hanging around doing their effect and we already started to bite at all. In this heat it was a boon to cum the Whisper.
With Peter, Rosy and Fleur we spent two pleasant, communicative and interesting culinary delicious days. On Saturday drove the Swiss Family crew go back to Switzerland, because there on Monday begins the school.
After the final sprint in type may now at last our clocks tick more slowly. We are converting to our new life and are already fully busy with the doing the kinds of things. Everything from needs to be stored at home. We clean, pack, sort and stowed and the end has already found many things into place. Believe it or not, what all has such a space ship.
Yesterday we had a real sense of achievement. Hans Peter, our diesel heater running again accommodated. We were pleased that runs at 33 ° C in the heating vessel! To some people this lengthy history, which we will not tell here again. The main thing it will work again, because in October we will be sure happy about it.
Before we solve here in the Laguna di Marano was the last time the lines, still has a lot to be done. The new batteries are installed, the LED masthead light is still mounted on the mast, a new ground plane for the short wave radio must be attached to the dry and the antifouling will be repainted. This work we want to do here in the Marina Sant Andrea on dry land. Everything else can be done on the winter road or place. We do not want something to enjoy summer in the Adriatic Sea and are looking forward immensely to our trip.
